You work with your bank through Mundi, and your bank executes the money transfers
Each connection is set up through an application your company makes to its own bank. You see your balances and transactions in Mundi, and you send instructions that have passed your approval flow to your bank through Mundi. The money does not pass through Mundi, and Mundi does not hold customer money.
Viewing and money transfer, two separate authorizations
A viewing authorization allows reading only. Connecting an account grants no authority to move money, and no instruction goes to the bank under this authorization.
The money transfer authorization is added through a separate application, with separate user credentials issued by the bank. The money goes only from your bank to the beneficiary's bank and does not pass through Mundi.

Boundaries
What you do through Mundi, and what Mundi does not do
What you do through Mundi
- You see the balances and transactions of your connected accounts in Mundi.
- Through Mundi, you send instructions that have passed your approval flow to your bank's instruction channel.
- You set up your sweep rule in Mundi, with its accounts, reserve, days and time. The rule runs as you set it, for example every business day at 16:00.
- You see whether each connection is working on Mundi's Settings screen.
What Mundi never does
- It does not pass money through its own account and does not hold customer money.
- It does not create an instruction on its own initiative.
- It does not make a money transfer with a viewing authorization.
- It does not send instructions to a bank that offers no instruction channel.
- It does not change your approval rules on its own. It sets these rules on your company's written instruction, in line with your signature circular.

Setup
Setting up a connection, in four steps
Forms and channels vary from bank to bank. At every bank, the connection is set up within your banking relationship, in your company's name. Your bank assigns the connection to your company as the account holder, not to Mundi.
-
1. Application form
Mundi fills in the bank's form with your company's details, together with you. Your company's authorized representatives sign the form and send it to your bank.
-
2. The bank's setup
Your bank sets up the connection in your company's name and sends the connection's user credentials to your company.
-
3. Entering the details
You enter the connection details your bank gave you on the Settings screen in Mundi. If needed, your bank also adds Mundi's fixed network addresses as allowed addresses.
-
4. Connection
The user credentials are stored encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The connection appears on the Settings screen.

Control
The connections are in your hands
On the Settings screen you see which accounts are connected, when they were connected and the scope of access. An Approver or Full Authority user can remove a connection at any time.
With every request, Mundi authenticates itself to your bank with the connection details your bank gave your company.
